Snakes have inhabited this Earth from a long time. They are found in almost all type of places like desert, water, trees, etc. They lay eggs. They do not have limbs. They swallow their food without swallowing. Most of them are non-poisonous. Poisonous snakes have fangs. Smaller snakes eat mice, rats, lizards, etc. Bigger snakes like Anaconda and Pythons can swallow deers and human beings too.
Snakes are called farmer's friends because they eat rats and mice which destroy crops. They keep the number of frogs, rats, etc in control.
Antivenom is given to cure snake bite.
People kill snakes because they think that all snakes are dangerous and poisonous. This is not true. Only very few snakes are poisonous. People are destroying forests and grasslands and building houses and factories there. Due to this snakes are forced to enter people's house in search of food and shelter.
Snakes generally live inside holes inside the ground. During rainy season their houses are flooded and they are forced to come out into the open. This is why more snakes are seen during rainy season.
Snakes too have a right to live. Ignorence makes people fear them. People should understand snakes. Then they will not kill them.
